DESCRIPTION:Reservations Required\nPlease join Lama Tsering and the sangha of Palpung Thubten Chöling in celebrating the Opening of the Tenth Three-Year Retreat. \nThe opportunity to attend the opening of a three-year retreat is considered highly auspicious. The karmic connection made to the Dharma and to the Three Year Retreat reaps mountains of merit and creates the conditions for participation in a retreat in this or future lifetimes. \nPlease arrive by 9:00 am to enjoy the following: \nProcession \nCeremony \n\nChanting of Offerings and Aspirations\nOffering of Auspicious Symbols by the Retreatants to the throne of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa\nTraditional Offering of Sweet Rice and Tea\nOffering of Traditional White Scarves by Guests to Lama Tsering\, Lama Norgyal and the Retreatants (Packets of white scarves (katas) will be available at our bookstore.)\n\nLunch in honor of Retreatants\, their Guests and Families \nThere is no charge for attending the ceremony or the lunch.  Please come as our guest\, but you must register in advance by filling out this form. \nOvernight accommodations may be coming soon. A separate post will be made if/when they become available.  \nThis is a very auspicious event to sponsor. SUMMARY:Monday Evenings - Introduction to Buddhist Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Teachings on foundational Buddhist thought along with basic meditation instructions taught by resident teachers who have graduated from the PTC three-year retreat program. Appropriate for beginners and for anyone who would like to refresh their understanding of meditation or just meditate with a group. No prerequisites or attendance requirement\, join us any Monday. \nThese classes are being offered in person and on Zoom. If you would like to participate remotely\, please use our online event registration form. \nThese classes are free of charge. \n  \nPlease do not visit the monastery if you feel unwell and/or have a fever. \nWe urge all program participants to take precautions against the ongoing risk of COVID through protection such as having up-to-date vaccinations\, wearing a good-quality mask indoors\, washing hands and maintaining physical distance. \nMasks and hand sanitizer will be available at all entryways. \nMany thanks to all of you for your support in keeping this event as safe as possible! \n
