SUMMARY:Commemoration of Buddha Joyful Day
DESCRIPTION:2:00 pm | Amitabha Sadhana and Jangchok Purification Ritual \nIn commemoration of Buddha Joyful Day\, we are honored to have H.E. Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche preside over this sacred ceremony. \nPlease join us in a special recitation of the Amitabha sadhana\, with tsok (feast offering)\, dedicated to our loved ones\, both living and deceased. \nThe Jangchok ritual is especially performed to help the recently deceased achieve liberation. During the ceremony\, the names of the deceased are blessed and burned to symbolize purification of their defilements\, obscurities and negative karma by the fire of wisdom\, ripening their merit to be reborn in Amitabha’s pureland of Dewachen. \nThe practice also brings blessings and auspicious connections for loved ones who passed away a long time ago\, as well as the living. If you would like to include your loved ones’ names for dedication (both living and deceased) please download the Amitabha Sadhana Dedication Form in Chinese and English. You may donate any amount. Please send forms in by August 16. \n  \nFor Chinese translation in-person:  Please bring your own devices (smartphones or tablets) with headphones and Zoom app installed. Those devices with no cellular service may connect to the guest WiFi. Please bring a power bank or juice box if needed. \nDonations are appreciated but not required to attend this event. \nThis event is In-Person Only. There is no on-line registration. \nDue to a private retreat that will be in progress\, overnight accommodation will not be available.  \n\nAbout H.E. Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche \nIn 1983\, His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa enthroned Gyalton Tulku Rinpoche of Rumtek Monastery. After finishing his university studies\, Rinpoche returned to Palpung Sherabling to study under the guidance of Kenting Tai Situpa and other gurus. HE Gyalton Rinpoche is a close disciple and heart son of HH Tai Situpa\, and has taught at Palpung centers in Asia\, Europe\, and North America. He is one of the main teachers of the Palpung study and practice program Discovering the Buddha Within.
