SUMMARY:Commemoration of Chotrul Duchen and the Anniversary of Milarepa
DESCRIPTION:The anniversary of Milarepa auspiciously coincides with Chotrul Duchen\, the ‘Festival of Miracles’ which occurs on the full moon of the first Tibetan month\, and commemorates the Buddha performing fifteen days of miracles in order to inspire devotion in his disciples. On Chotrul Duchen\, all positive and negative actions are said to be multiplied 10 million times. \nMilarepa is the most beloved yogi and poet of Tibet and one of the forefathers of the Kagyu lineage revered for his inspirational life story and profound songs of realization. The Guru Yoga of Milarepa is an essential practice of the Kagyu lineage in which the transmission of devotion becomes the basis of Mahamudra. \n  \n6:30 am | Thousandfold Lamp Offering (Tong Chö)\nA traditional Tong Chö of 1\,000 butter lamps\, 1\,000 bowls of saffron water and 300 bowls filled with rice\, incense and flowers accompanied by chanting of the Chenrezig practice. \nThe following sessions will also be available on Zoom. This is followed by the short liturgy of Shitro (Peaceful and Wrathful Deities)\, a profound practice from the cycle of teachings and meditations of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. DESCRIPTION:清明節法會功德金表 (Qing Ming 2026)\n凡隨喜參與以下任何項目，均可提供迴向名單清明節法會 \n  \nThe sangha of PTC will be making prayers and offerings for our parents\, ancestors\, and the deceased through a special recitation of the Amitabha sadhana with tsok offerings and aspiration prayers for the well being of ourselves and all other beings\, especially those to whom we dedicate the practice by name\, both living and deceased. \nThe practice entitled ‘Jangchok’ will be included within the chanting of the Amitabha sadhana.  Jangchok is done for the benefit of the recently deceased to achieve liberation.  For persons who may have passed away a long time ago the Jangchok practice will still bring great blessings to the deceased and create the causes and conditions for the liberation of the person.  For the living\, it is said that once their karmic debtors are liberated through this practice\, the person will have less obstacles.  For all beings\, this practice will help to create favorable conditions and enhance their well-being. \nDuring the chanting Lama Tsering Dakpa will bless and burn all the names of the deceased to symbolize purification of their defilements\, obscurities and negative karma by the fire of wisdom\, ripening their merit to be reborn in Amitabha’s pureland of Dewachen. Also included will be a dedication of merit to all sponsors and their designated names for blessing. \nYou may donate any amount and provide us with the names for dedication (both living and deceased).  To make these dedications\, download the Amitabha Sadhana Dedication Form in Chinese and English. \n\nThere will be two sessions: 10:00am and 1:30pm.  \nThis event is also being offered on Zoom. DESCRIPTION:The resident sangha of PTC will be chanting Sherab Nyingpo\, a practice based on the Heart Sutra. Sherab Nyingpo is an obstacle-averting practice that dispels unfavorable circumstances and promotes good conditions. SUMMARY:Commemoration of Chökor Duchen
DESCRIPTION:The PTC sangha will be commemorating Chökor Duchen\, the day that Buddha Shakyamuni first turned the Wheel of Dharma\, teaching the Four Noble Truths. \nAfter the Buddha realized awakening beneath the Bodhi tree\, he remained in contemplation. At first he was reluctant to teach\, fearing that people would not understand his message. Finally\, encouraged by Indra and Brahma\, he shared his discovery of the truth in his first teaching. This auspicious day is a “multiplying day” on which karmic results are said to be multiplied by one hundred million\, so we make this a joyful opportunity to practice extra virtue. \n\n6:30am | Thousandfold Lamp Offering (Tong Chö)\nA traditional Tong Chö of 1\,000 butter lamps\, 1\,000 bowls of saffron water and 300 bowls filled with rice\, incense and flowers is offered weekly\, accompanied by chanting of the Chenrezig practice. \n  \nThe following chanting session will take place in the main house shrine room. Please note – we are not able to live stream this session. \n  \n10:00am | Kalu Rinpoche’s Practice of Aspiration Prayers (Monlam Choga)\, followed by the Short Practice of the Peaceful & Wrathful Deities (Shitro)\nChanting of the Monlam Choga\, a practice of offering and aspiration prayers compiled by Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche. This is followed by the short liturgy of Shitro (Peaceful and Wrathful Deities)\, a profound practice from the cycle of teachings and meditations of the Tibetan Book of the Dead.  \nAugust 19-23\, 2026 \n了解更多\n \nDiscovering the Buddha Within is an experiential learning program of the Buddha Dharma created as part of the vast vision of Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. \nThe three-year program consists of three levels: Level I\, Inner Peace\, Level 2\, Awakened Heart\, and Level 3\, Original Purity. \nIn level 2 students will discover their inner goodness through meditations on loving kindness\, compassion\, joy\, equanimity\, and so forth\, students will learn to connect with their awakened heart and discover their innate goodness\, further enriching the calm state of mind and deepening their meditation through recognition of emptiness\, which is the essence of the Mahayana. \nEligibility Requirements for Level 2:\n●      Having attended DBW Level 1 in person\n●      Or\, Having completed the Joy of Living 1 program via Tergar\n●      Or\, Attending the Mahamudra Transmission by Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa \nFor those new to Buddhism\, the practice commitment is to practice at least 10 minutes every day for a minimum of 30 consecutive days.
