Our primary source\, Ornament of Precious Liberation\, by the great master of the Kagyu lineage\, Lord Gampopa\, is considered a spiritual classic of Tibetan Buddhism. HH 17th Karmapa shares in his foreword to the book\, that “this text has the power of a direct transmission from master to student” and that Gampopa himself promised that studying this text would be the same as receiving the teachings directly from him. \nIn order to develop our understanding of this profound work\, we will also be referring to Path to Buddhahood\, a very accessible and illuminating commentary by Ringu Tulku. \nThe books used will be:\nOrnament of Precious Liberation\, translator Ken Holmes\, Wisdom Publications\nPath to Buddhahood\, by Ringu Tulku\, Shambala \nThe material will be screen-shared each class\, so it is not necessary to buy the books.
