SUMMARY:Gya Shi\, The Practice of the Four Hundred Offerings
DESCRIPTION:To help dispel obstacles and bring about auspicious conditions the resident sangha of PTC will be chanting Gya Shi\, the Practice of the Four Hundred Offerings. This practice\, which involves the offerings of 100 tsa-tsas\, 100 butterlamps\, 100 tormas\, 100 chambu (effigies)\, is a means to purify obstacles created by the four maras (mental afflictions\, attachment to happiness\, clinging to the five skandhas\, death). \n\nTo participate via Zoom please click here. \n  \nFor those who wish to sponsor the chanting\, donations can be made toward meals and the tea served during the chanting. General contributions toward these special practices are also welcome. DESCRIPTION:The resident sangha of PTC will be chanting Sherab Nyingpo\, a practice based on the Heart Sutra. Sherab Nyingpo is an obstacle-averting practice that dispels unfavorable circumstances and promotes good conditions. The Heart Sutra is recited repeatedly as a means to purify obstacles created by the four maras (mental afflictions\, attachment to happiness\, clinging to the five skandhas\, death). DESCRIPTION:December 8 – 10\, Friday – Sunday | Drolma Yuldok\, a practice based on the 21 Taras \nThis three-day practice based on the 21 Taras\, known as Drolma Yuldok\, is chanted to remove obstacles and bring about auspicious conditions.  The central content of the chanting is the 21 Praises of Tara repeated with various offerings and prayers. \nChanting Schedule:\nFriday & Saturday | 9:00 am & 2:00 pm \nSunday | 9:00 am \n  \nDecember 10\, Sunday (following Drolma Yuldok chanting) | Sür\, Evening Fire Offering Ceremony\nSür (an evening fire offering ceremony) is an offering to the four guests: the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas\, the Protector deities\, sentient beings\, and those with whom we have karmic debts.
