SUMMARY:2024 Year-End Chanting Practices
DESCRIPTION:The PTC Sangha will be chanting practices for averting obstacles\, sickness\, war\, and disasters\, bringing all auspicious conditions for the coming year. \n\nTo join us via Zoom please click here. \n  \nDecember 28 – 30\, Saturday – Monday  | Druptab\, the extended version of the Six-Armed Chadrupa practice.\nThese extended Mahakala prayers are performed to clear away obstacles.\nThere will be two chanting sessions each day starting at 8:30 am & 1:30 pm \n\nJanuary 1\, Wednesday (10:00 am) | Sang\, Morning Fire Offering Ceremony\nSang is a special morning purification fire ceremony. It is an offering to all worldly gods and the 4 guests: Buddhas & Bodhisattvas; Protectors; sentient beings; and those with whom we have karmic debts. This practice pacifies war\, encourages peace and averts sickness. It also creates merit and concludes the year-end chanting by purifying any remaining obstacles. \n  \nThere are many ways to share in the merit of these activities through sponsoring meals\, fire offering ceremonies\, or the tea served during the chanting. Be sure to include a prayer with your donation which will be read aloud to the assembly. \nYou may also simply mail your tax-deductible contribution to:\nPalpung Thubten Chöling\nAttn: Office\n245 Sheafe Road\, Wappingers Falls\, NY 12590. \nPlease make checks payable to Palpung Thubten Choling or PTC. For credit card payments\, fax your credit card number (VISA or MasterCard only)\, along with the expiration date and signature and the amount you would like to charge to (845) 297-5761. For your protection\, please do not email your credit card information. \nAs we are not able to check email during chanting events\, please send your prayer request and sponsorship information 48 hours before the first day of chanting to guarantee that we receive it in time to announce your prayer. If you are not able to do that\, please leave a short but clear message of your prayer on  845-297-2500  and we will do our best to have your prayer announced. \n  \nPlease do not visit the monastery if you feel unwell and/or have a fever. \nWe urge all program participants to take precautions against the ongoing risk of COVID through wearing masks and washing hands. \nMasks and hand sanitizer will be available at all entryways. \nMany thanks to all of you for your support in keeping this event as safe as possible! \n

DESCRIPTION:7:30 pm – 8:30 pm \nThese chanting sessions are being offered in person and on Zoom. If you would like to participate remotely\, please use our online event registration form. \n  \nFirst and third Thursday of each month | Medicine Buddha Practice and The Verses that Saved Sakya from Sickness  \n \nPlease join us as we chant this essential practice which can increase our healing powers so that we can help those in our lives who are struggling with illness and obstacles and also remove our own physical and mental suffering.
