Please join Lama Tsering and the sangha of Palpung Thubten Chöling in celebrating the Opening of the Ninth Three-Year Retreat.

The opportunity to view the opening of a three-year retreat is considered to be extremely auspicious. The karmic connection made to the Dharma and to the Three Year Retreat reaps mountains of merit and creates the conditions for participation in a Retreat in this or future lifetimes.

• Chanting of Offerings and Aspirations
• Offering of Auspicious Symbols by the Retreatants to the throne of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa
• Traditional Offering of Sweet Rice and Tea
• Video address by Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa
• Offering of Traditional White Scarves by Guests to the Lama Tsering, Lama Norgyal and Retreatants (Packets of white scarves (katas) will be available at our bookstore.)

12:00 (noon) | Dinner in honor of Retreatants, their Guests and Families

There is no charge for attending the ceremony or the dinner.  Please come as our guest, but you must register in advance by writing to reservations@kagyu.com.  Please provide the following information:

• Number in your party who will attend the ceremony.
• Number in your party who will attend the celebratory dinner at noon.

If you require overnight accommodations, please note that most beds at KTC are already reserved for family members of the retreatants.  There are a few dormitory beds at KTC available.  Otherwise, please see our visitor information page for local hotels.

This is a very auspicious event to sponsor. For those who wish to sponsor the Opening of the 9th Three Year Retreat, the tent, tables & chairs rental, or the celebratory dinner, donations can be made. Be sure to include a prayer with your donation which will be read aloud to the assembly.
