Chenrezig Empowerment & Bodhisattva Vow

His Eminence Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche will bestow the Chenrezig Empowerment followed by the Bodhisattva Vow.

he deity Chenrezig is the embodiment of compassion, and represents the intention of bodhicitta that leads to awakening. Practicing the profound sadhana of Chenrezig with awareness, we can attain Chenrezig’s enlightened body, speech, and mind.
Taking the Bodhisattva Vow reinforces our commitment to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. Please note that it is customary to make offerings to the Buddha when receiving the Bodhisattva Vow. Offerings of fruit, incense, flowers or other traditional shrine offerings are welcomed. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to set up your offerings with the help of the shrine attendant.
A kata (white offering scarf) may be offered to Rinpoche after the conclusion of the ceremony as thanks for having received the empowerment and Bodhisattva Vow.
Rinpoche will give Refuge to those who have not yet received it during this session.
Donations are appreciated but not required to attend this events.
This event is In-Person Only. There is no on-line registration.
Due to a private retreat that will be in progress, overnight accommodation will not be available. The doors for the empowerment will open at 9:00 am. Unless you are part of the private retreat, please do not arrive at the monastery prior to Sunday at 9:00 am.
About H.E. Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche
In 1983, His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa enthroned Gyalton Tulku Rinpoche of Rumtek Monastery. After finishing his university studies, Rinpoche returned to Palpung Sherabling to study under the guidance of Kenting Tai Situpa and other gurus. HE Gyalton Rinpoche is a close disciple and heart son of HH Tai Situpa, and has taught at Palpung centers in Asia, Europe, and North America. He is one of the main teachers of the Palpung study and practice program Discovering the Buddha Within. Currently, Rinpoche resides at Palpung Sherabling.
