Teachings by His Eminence Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche

Palpung Thubten Choling is honored to welcome back His Eminence Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche during his upcoming North American tour for bestowal of refuge, teachings and empowerments.

In 1983, His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa enthroned Gyalton Tulku Rinpoche of Rumtek Monastery. After finishing his university studies, Rinpoche returned  to Palpung Sherabling to study under the guidance of Kenting Tai Situpa and other gurus. HE Gyalton Rinpoche is a close disciple and heart son of HH Tai Situpa, and has taught at Palpung centers in Asia, Europe, and North America. He is one of the main teachers of the Palpung study and practice program Discovering the Buddha Within. Currently, Rinpoche resides at Palpung Sherabling.

Saturday Nov 23:

10:30 am – 12:00 pm  |  Chod Empowerment
Traditionally practiced in charnel grounds by wandering yogis, Chöd (Cutting through the Illusion of Ego) is a sacred meditation that dissolves fear and ego-clinging into the expanse of luminous awareness.
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm |  Chod Teaching (empowerment required to attend teaching)

The Nine Ways of Resting the Mind is a powerful guide to developing a clear, calm and stable mind. At each stage on the path of calm abiding, we learn how to apply antidotes for the various obstacles that arise as we practice, and to develop skills that free the innately clear mind from agitation and dullness.

1:30 pm – 3:00 pm |  White Dzambhala Empowerment
White Dzambhala is an emanation of the compassionate Chenrezig and the embodiment of generosity.   Guru Rinpoche manifested as the five families of Dzambhala in order to relieve the suffering of poverty of beings that is caused by the negative karma of greed. The practice of White Dzambhala is a great treasury of merit that purifies the causes of both material and spiritual poverty, and brings an abundance of prosperity and virtue.  It prompts auspicious conditions for long life, good health, the balancing of the elements, and freedom from war.

In-Person and Zoom/Live Stream:
Members $30/session
Non-Members $35/session

For those registering to participate via Zoom, a link unique to these teachings will be sent. It will be a different link than the one used to access our weekly public classes and chanting sessions.

 

 

Accommodations: Please note that accommodations are only open to program participants.

Please review the options for daily rates below. These rates include vegetarian meals. They do not include teachings/seminar fees.

We have limited accommodations; private rooms are not available.

Please note our meal offerings may contain common allergens including soy, wheat, tree nuts, seeds, milk, and egg products. We are sorry that we are unable to accommodate special dietary needs.
