The observance of Buddha’s Joyful Day on the full moon day of the seventh lunar month is based on the story of Maudgalyayana, a disciple of the Buddha. Buddha’s Joyful Day is observed by making offerings of necessities to monastics, reciting sūtras and performing acts of generosity.
The featured book will be Moody Cow Meditates by Kerry Lee MacLean, and is recommended for ages 4-8, but all ages are welcome. The session will also include a brief introduction to meditation, which we hope will be helpful in these especially stressful times.
